The Adverse Medicine Events (AME) Line brochure has been produced by the Australian Council for Safety and Quality in Health Care to assist people in reporting adverse medicine events.You may wish to distribute the brochure through your own practice/health care organisation or, you may include/add the brochure to your newsletter/flyers etc. Please feel free to access the AME line brochure provided below which can be easily downloaded and printed.
Adverse Medicine Events (AME) Line Phone service
When things go wrong with medicines, you can get advice and report the incident by phoning the Adverse Medicine Events (AME) Line on 1300 134 237. This 1300 number, like all 1300 numbers, is charged at the rate of a local call from anywhere within Australia.This phone-in service is available for members of the general public who suspect they have experienced an adverse medicine event.
Help with accessing large documents
When accessing large documents (over 500 KB in size), it is recommended that the following procedure be used:
- Click the link with the RIGHT mouse button
- Choose "Save Target As.../Save Link As..." depending on your browser
- Select an appropriate folder on a local drive to place the downloaded file
Attempting to open large documents within the browser window (by left-clicking)
may inhibit your ability to continue browsing while the document is
opening and/or lead to system problems.

To
view PDF (Portable
Document Format) documents, you will need to have the Adobe Acrobat reader
installed on your computer. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is available free
of charge from Adobe's
website.
