The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC) is pleased to respond to the call of the National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission (NHHRC) for submissions. The
ACSQHC Submission to the National Health and Hospitals Reform Commission: including A Safety and Quality Framework for the Future, June 2008 (PDF 238 KB) presents comment on the NHHRC terms of reference, design principles and performance indicators. In addition this submission outlines the ACSQHC's vision for the year 2020, which forms a framework for safety and quality reform in Australia.

Health Ministers Endorse Implementation of Safety and Quality Accreditation Reforms
A

Clinical Handover Literature Review
The eHealth Services Research Group at the University of Tasmania has undertaken a evidence-based
clinical handover literature review for the Commission. This literature review examines the evidence for effectiveness of improvement interventions in clinical handover.
Falls Prevention Guidelines
A second edition titled

National Inpatient Medication Chart
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care has identified medication safety as one of its priorities. Reducing error and harm from medicines through safe and quality use of medicines is an important element of our objective to lead and coordinate national safety and quality improvements in health care.

National Forum on Safety and Quality in Health Care 2008
The Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) in collaboration with the Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care and the Department of Health, South Australia are hosting the National Forum on Safety and Quality in Health Care at the Adelaide Convention Centre 29-31 October 2008. The theme for the Forum is “Safety and Quality is Everyone’s Business”
